We regret to inform you that the talk, ‘Story of the Blue’ by Paul Oliver at the Gloucester Library on Saturday 30th July, has been postponed. This due to the illness of Paul Oliver. We wish him well and hope to see him soon.

Gloucester Rhythm and Blues Festival 2011

Gloucester’s annual blues festival returns to the city for nine hot days and nights of the very best live music in pubs, bars, venues and open spaces around the city, including the Pig Inn The City, the Cross Keys Inn, the European Blues Archive and of course at the Cafe Rene, who will also host the massive closing finale weekend of the festival.

Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival 2010

Get ready for nine days of rocking rhythm & blues in Gloucester, featuring an amazing line-up of local talent plus national and international acts. Artists performing in venues and pubs around the city include blues harmonica legend Paul Lamb, Sons of The Delta, the Steve Browning Band, Bridget And The Big Girls Blues, Worried Men, Steve Kent, Dan James Duo, Cool Hand, The Suspects, Muleskinner, D B Smith Band, Oliver Darling and more, plus jam sessions and exhibitions.

The Festival kicks off in style with blues harmonica heavyweights Paul Lamb and the Kingsnakes in Gloucester Park at 7pm on Saturday 24th July.

Hailed by aficionados and the music press around the world as Europe’s foremost blues harmonica exponent, Paul Lamb has forged himself a place in the history books as one of the greatest players of our time. He has won countless awards, sold record-breaking quantities of albums and performed the world over with his long-standing musical compatriots, The Kingsnakes. Recently inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall Of Fame (alongside the likes of Peter Green, John Mayall and Alexis Korner), Lamb still continues to bring his infectious brand of soulful blues to a plethora of fans around the globe.
